The Effect of the Kumamoto Earthquakes (4/14 and 4/16) on Kurokawa Onsen
UPDATE on 4/27

Our thoughts at this time are with those people in the Kumamoto area who have lost so much and are still facing hardships in their daily lives.  We feel extremely fortunate that there were no casualties, and very little damage in Kurokawa Onsen . We would like to reassure you that from Golden Week (starting 4/29) most inns, baths, shops and restaurants will be open for business. However a few places that received damage will not reopen until later in the year.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Buses are now running again between Hakata (Fukuoka) and Kurokawa with a slight detour around Tsuetate, however the bus to Yufuin and Beppu has not yet restarted at the time of writing. Access from Kumamoto and the Aso region by public transport is severely disrupted at the moment. Please check the English Blog on this site for updates.

RESERVATIONS
Most inns are accepting reservations as normal and we look forward to welcoming you here in Kurokawa Onsen in the near future.
